One more year we celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. A day in which we all fit, those who live with a unique sensory disability such as deafblindness and those who have any other type of disability, whatever their population incidence is.
The UN has focused on the celebration of this day in 2018 towards the struggle to empower people with disabilities and ensure their integration and equality, considering it essential to achieve compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals set for 2030.
For that reason, today and tomorrow is taking place the European Day of People with Disabilities in Brussels, organized by the European Commission and the European Disability Forum. Our president, Francisco Trigueros, has given a speech today as vice president of the European Union of Deafblind (EDbU), explaining what is the current situation of our group.
We will keep fighting in order to achieve the real respect of the rights of the Deafblind people and all the disability collective because we play a crucial role in society.
Nothing about us without us!
